The workforce at Casa Mancini is an interesting group of professionals
that hail from diverse backgrounds. Some come to us as apprentices to learn the fundamentals of the craft. Others are design
students with diplomas in furniture making from colleges in the UK. Still others come from traditional apprenticeship systems
in Europe. Finally, some are completely self trained. In total, they are a very talented and highly skilled group of craftsmen.
The Casa Mancini library is filled with art and period furniture
books, rare books, original catalogues and sketch books and many auction catalogues. These books are fully accessible to our
clients for historical facts as well as design ideas.
Usually clients will come in with an idea, but without a
finished picture of what they are trying to convey. A few hours in our library and these answers are usually found.
Our library also provides us with detailed descriptions of certain techniques
or processes that may not be available today. This allows us to not only replicate designs of furniture, but also to learn
from the way these pieces were originally built.
